Plenty of Fish POF Dating Website Review

Plenty Of Fish

Plenty of Fish or POF is a huge free online dating website that caters to just about everyone. With one of the largest communities we had ever seen you can browse through it for hours trying to find your perfect dating matches. Each profile also gives you bullet point information about each member and what is usually important information to most seekers such as race, profession, children, and pets. It also has two columns where they can write and discuss who they are as a person and what they are looking for in their perfect mate. There is also a chemistry test that you can take that will allow you to see if you match up with someone by chemistry. Unfortunately most people on this site never take this test so it is hard to find out if you match up with them or not in that category of the site. There is also a quick tab area called “Meet Me” that gives your random people, one by one, that you can vote whether you want to meet them or not and the user will see the next time they log on or through email that information.

Plenty of Fish or POF is completely free and you can write messages to just about anyone on the site without any hassles of limited communication. You can pay extra for a few upgrades that may or may not help you. One of the benefits of paying is that your profile will come up in the search list with a larger image, highlighted information, and bold print. You will also get to see when a user has read and received your email. The other thing you get is the ability to send unlimited roses and gifts which is a lot like just sending glorified emoticons to a user but will spark a little more attention.

This is a great place to meet other single people or new friends, the only huge draw back is that our male users had a hard time connecting with women who they felt were a good match mostly because they would never get a response. For every 10 messages sent through the system they only got one message back from a prospective date. For our female site users the were overly bombarded with emails the first day, one of our users received 50 messages the first day right after she uploaded a picture and approved through Plenty of Fish. Which made more sense why our male users had a hard time to get a response because women get so many messages a day some other prospective men may get washed out.

Over all we give the Plenty of Fish a solid grade of B-.

Good Points:

Huge community of users

New users every day by the hundreds in populated areas

Chemistry Test for connections

Lots of information on users to find your perfect match

Lots of different tools and search ability

Bad Points:

With so many users you get a lot more bad eggs who ruin i for everyone

Females will get bombarded with hundreds of emails per day

Male users will get slow responses because of female email bombardment

There is limited matching process so wading through so many profiles and reading each one takes a lot of time
